BREEDING REGENERATION

Unique Sanga Genetics

"The Tuli breed descends from a small nucleus herd of yellow Ngwato cattle in Zimbabwe. It has evolved under harsh arid and semi-arid range conditions, and out of the local herders' indigenous breeding and selection strategies.

Tuli Cattle

Fertile & Efficient Grazer

"Body condition is a reflection of overall adaptation, and indicator of grass conversion efficiency and the main determinant of practical fertility. If it does not come from breeding it has to come from feeding."
Man, Cattle and Veld, Johan Zietsman, 2014

Tuli Cattle

About Us

At Carroll Tuli's our goal is to steward climate smart cattle genetics in harmony with nature. It all started with a little bit of vision and a lot of faith, coupled with the need to think differently about the future of farming.  The Tuli breed has always been a fascinating breed to work with from experience with commercial cattle farming operations. From the kalahari sandveld to the extreme highveld, the sweet bushveld to the rocky mountains... our commercial Tuli cattle has shown their worth through and through over many years. Our passion for the Tuli's therefore does not originate from any EBV data or another convincing Tuli breeder, but rather through real world experience working with the Tuli breed in cross-breeding commercial cattle operations. Our Tuli cows are highly fertile, have a docile nature with very strong mothering instincts and no calving issues. Our breeding philosophy remains focused on retaining the inherent fertility and functionality of the breed. Tuli cattle are profitable range cattle due to their low maintenance requirements and being efficient grazers in tough conditions... our breeding aim is to keep it that way.
